Nursing Station Volunteers
Volunteers at St. Joseph's Manor, Holy Redeemer's long-term care and assisted living facility, work at nursing stations during meal times so that staff are free to help feed residents. Volunteers answer phones, do light clerical work, respond to inquiries and provide customer service. St. Joseph's Manor is located adjacent to Holy Redeemer Hospital and Medical Center. Volunteer hours are 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m., seven days a week. Any time commitment is appreciated. For more information, please call 215-938-3240.
Holy Redeemer Home Care & Hospice
Bereavement volunteers
Our bereavement volunteers are compassionate individuals who make reassurance phone calls to surviving family members and caregivers. Phone calls are generally placed two to three times a month. All volunteers attend a six-hour training program. For more information please email our volunteer office.
Hospice patient volunteer
Hospice patient volunteers make weekly two to three-hour home visits, bringing comfort to patients and families during a most stressful time in their lives. During visits, volunteers offer emotional support and companionship, assist with errands or provide respite for caregivers. All volunteers must obtain medical clearance and attend an 18-hour training program. For the convenience of our volunteers, training is available during day and evening hours. Reflexology, massage or energy therapy volunteers
Volunteers certified in reflexology, massage or energy therapy are invited to join our complementary therapy program for hospice patients. An eight-hour training program will help volunteers use their existing skills in the hospice setting. For more information please call 215-938-3240 or email our volunteer office.
In-home Pet Care
Volunteers who love animals can lend a hand to hospice families by helping with the care and feeding of pets.
