There are so many reasons to choose a Holy Redeemer caregiver. Here are some important ones:
How do I know I’m hiring a quality, skilled caregiver?
All our caregivers are carefully screened and selected for their kind, caring, and compassionate nature with patients, as well as for their professionalism and personal care skills. Our high standards for caregivers are supported by rigorous training and testing overseen by registered nurses:
- Hands-on testing includes bathing, safe ambulation, bathroom assistance and feeding.
- A written exam to assess knowledge and skills in safety procedures and infection control.
- Continual supervision and support by an experienced registered nurse.
- Ongoing participation in OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) in-services, safety in-services and 6 hours of general in-services annually.
Will the caregiver know how to care for my loved one’s specific needs?
Before a caregiver is assigned, a registered nurse first visits the home to assess the needs, environment and patient challenges. A customized care plan is then developed for the caregiver to follow, ensuring that all of the needs are met. Our caregivers are thoroughly trained to perform their duties and monitor any changes in the patient’s condition that could require a change in their care plan.
Are caregivers screened and given criminal background checks?
In addition to our comprehensive interview process, all employees are given criminal background checks; are cleared by our Occupational Health Services department; and receive all required immunizations.
Who pays the caregiver?
Holy Redeemer bills you bi-weekly and we pay the caregiver. Money is never exchanged with the caregiver. This can prevent any issues with possible identity theft
Am I responsible for the employees’ state and federal taxes?
Holy Redeemer pays the employee and complies with state and federal labor and health laws, including taxes, Social Security and Workers' Compensation.
